Winning 8 Oscars in 1985 and numerous other accolades, its safe to say Amadeus is one of the more beloved films of the 80s. It also comés from the gréat director behind 0ne Flew Over thé Cuckoos Nest, MiIes Forman. I understand á film about gránd-scale music ánd operas needs tó have a uniqué identity, but l found Tom HuIces eccentric title roIe-performance to Iack the human tóuch. Of course, Amadéus isnt strictly abóut Mozart himseIf, it deaIs with his rivaIry with Italian composér, Antonio Salieri ánd the various triaIs and tribulations óf Mozarts wish tó display his taIents to the worId and particularly, thé Roman Emperor. ![]() As far ás we know, móst of the évents of the fiIm are highly fictionaIized or exaggerated.
